#1 - Destroy the brain. Shooting zombies in the head are a sure-fire way to alleviate your decomposing problem. Generally when a zombie is lit on fire it will stumble around in confusion until it collapses. Once the body has fallen, it is still recommended to destroy the brain. Note that this will take significantly longer than a well-placed bullet through the head.
#3 - Dismemberment. NOTE: THIS IS NOT FOOLPROOF IN ALL ZOMBIES. USE EXTREME CAUTION. Some zombies, depending on their reanimated circumstances, may have a stronger will to kill than others. This could potentially cause dismembered body parts to continue movement after separation from the body.
